Ode to the Blue Horses

Ode to the Blue Horses is a 7”x7” hardbound book with an exposed spine and a letterpressed belly-band. It features Mary Oliver’s poem Franz Marc’s Blue Horses and 31 photographs by Anne Berry that explore the themes of the trouble of childhood and the power of beauty. The duotone images examine the tension between beauty and struggle, curiosity and fear, the ordinary and the extraordinary.

The edition is limited to 100 books, each one signed and numbered. The book includes Palomino, a Photogravure print (6 × 6 inches), protected in an acetate sleeve and inserted loose. Each print is hand pulled by the artist, and signed and numbered on the front.
